Institute of Aeronautics & Engineering was approved in the year 2002 by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India to impart Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses and joined the league of elite DGCA-approved AME colleges in India. As the regulatory requirements have changed to meet the 21st-century challenges, the institute has also been approved as per the latest regulation i.e. CAR-147 (Basic) and CAR-66 by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. This Civil Aviation Requirement is issued in accordance with the Rules 61 and 133B of the Aircraft Rule 1937 derived from the Aircraft act 1934 (XXII to 1934) passed by the Indian parliament, Govt. of India under the aircraft rule.
